In 1879 Lowell, North Carolina, was named for Lowell, Massachusetts, because of its interests in textiles. Lowell dates back to 1850, when Woodlawn Mill (commonly called “pinhook”) was built on the South Fork River. When grading was done for the old Charlotte and Atlanta Railroad in 1870 and a small depot was built in the community, it was given the name "Wright’s Station", because the nearest resident was William Wright. |
Today, Lowell offers a wide variety of housing options for people from all walks of life. Whether you are looking to rent an apartment or buy a home, we have a place for you here.
